Overall view on FMP…

I feel like the overall production with my book and website went better then I expected. Even though I did start off slow I picked it up and got everything I wanted to do and it was finished in the nick of time. I asked a few people from different backgrounds on their opinion of my finished book and website so I could get a range of different opinions; overall the feedback I got was positive as they could tell what the main focus of the project was. This was my biggest worry, I was worried that it didn’t make sense and people wouldn’t understand what I was trying to achieve within the project and the information I wanted to portray to the viewer, however without telling people my main focus they all seemed to understand it was about alter egos and how it related to people with alter egos and the fact it showed different characteristics to the alto ego world.

Reflective Journal...

In all honestly the thing I feel like I neglected the most within my project was my reflective journal but as you can see by the end of it I tried to recap on everything I did and reflect upon my work. By adding videos and examples of peoples alter egos I tried to make it look more interesting instead of just writing what I did and providing a picture, I wanted my journal to tell a story of what I have been doing for the last 12 weeks and see how I have progressed within my research and my ability to produce a book and a website on a chosen subject. Due to the fact I neglected my journal at the beginning, I had to make it so it reflects upon what I did back then not on what I did that day, past rather than present.

A real life alter ego...

While I was at work last night I discovered a real life alter ego. There is a girl who comes into the club junk most of the time and always shows signs of her being quite shy and timid, working behind the desk you get to recognise regular faces. Now this girl has no reason to be so unconfident, she’s pretty and from what I can tell looks respectable within the way she dresses. However, last night the same girl entered the club with a believable blonde wig on, now judging from her behaviour she seemed like a different girl, she was more confident and had a crowd presence. I decided to chat to the girl about her different look and she answered with the following statement “if I go out as the same old me I cant be confident, I just don’t have it in me... but if I put on my wig and pretend to be someone else for the night, I don’t have to be me I can be anyone I want to. I’ve got a number of wigs at home I wear when I go out so I can interact with people and just have fun; I don’t have to worry about the shy me that I normally am.” I was amazed, I had done so much research about alter egos and people changing who they are to be more confident but I had never actually witnessed it in person.  This I think was the icing on the cake to my project as I got to meet a real life alter ego

My very own Nicki Minaj….

One of my friends Rachael Akanni, is my very own Nicki Minaj, she changes her hair every week to get both a new look and to portray a new image….

I decided to do a little interview on her to see the real story behind all her looks and see if somewhere down the line she does this to satisfy her alter ego…

Interview:

Q. Why do you change your hair so much?

A. I just like showing my work through myself as an artist, it’s just a way of me being creative, and my image defines who I am. Also by looking at me you can tell what I’m into.  

Q. Do you feel your personality changes with each hairstyle you have?

A. Yes, I find that with short hair I feel more mature and more confident within the things I set out to do. Weather that changes my personality I don’t know however it makes me feel different, it makes me feel like I can be anything.

Q. Do you feel you get treated differently with a certain hairstyle?

A. Yeah like for example when I’m at work, the client respects me more when I have short hair, however when I have long hair or my natural hair I get treated like a kid and I don’t get respected within my job role.

Q. When you change your hair will you do it for a certain occasion for example when your going out do u like looking a certain way to if your at work?

A. When I go to work I like looking perfect. Top me I feel that if my hair doesn’t look good, then who am I to do someone else’s. If my hair looks fine then people will feel trustworthy when I’m doing their hair. However when I go out I like standing out from the crowd. So if that means going out in a pink will then I will. Its like if my hair is different I feel like this other person.

From this interview you can see that Rachael changes her hair to become this other person, weather it’s to be treated with respect or become more confident. This in fact is a common alter ego trait, changing ones self to become something or someone else.

website finally working...

So I’ve figured out it’s the Internet, which wasn’t working, so I tried it on Google chrome and all is well… panic over

Last few days…

Right so I’ve started freaking out a little bit… my website which I created seems to be not working. Arghhhhh... Every time I try and view the website it looks like this…

Differently not something I want to be seeing 2 days before hand in, but hopefully its to do with the internet and not the website... Fingers crossed.

One good thing is that I know its completed and so I don’t have to worry about finishing it off. Now its all about finishing off my Evaluation and having some last checks to make sure I haven’t missed anything.
